THE HISTORY OF WILLOWPOOL (It may be a dream)

Come with me and I will tell you how it all began:-
The magical world of Willow Pool
You all know how seeds grow when it rains and the sunshine looks down upon them. Well one day a very special seed landed on the ground. The rains came and the seed began to grow into a very beautiful oak tree. Then more trees began to grow. but none of them spoke to the oak tree, only the birds, butterflies and the animals, he was so lonely standing there all on his own.

One day the oak tree noticed that a different tree had begun to grow-----, a willow tree. He watched it grow, but still only the birds and animals would talk to him. What could he do to make it speak to him? He just stood there a beautiful oak tree all on his own with no one to speak to and then, by some miracle, one of the birds decided to go over to the willow tree. The tree spoke to the bird, the bird then spoke to the oak- it was pure magic:- from then on they grew together and spoke to each other every evening. The branches of the oak and the willow grew and grew and they began to touch. They fell in love, everyone was so happy - the birds flew into the trees and nested there, they were now one big happy family, the rabbits, birds, squirrels, all creatures of the woods.

They were all full so full of joy and happiness, but this came to an end one stormy night.

The sky went very, very dark, the rain started lashing down and tossed all the branches from side to side. Thunder and lightning came next - so loud it frightened all the birds and animals-they were running everywhere and found shelter from the storm.

Suddenly there was a terrific flash of lightning it struck the willow tree from top to bottom, so sadly she died. They all cried, the rabbits, squirrels, birds- everyone-but not as much as the oak tree.

They shed their tears night and day. There were so many tears that they formed a big, big pool. Willow Pool!

What a joy this was for the birds, rabbits, squirrels. They had somewhere to play, not so for the oak tree. He missed his friend the willow tree so much that he also wanted to die, but the animals told him that he must not think like that. They needed him so much and that one day he would be happy again.

Little did they know how true their belief would be, but out of the corner of his eye the oak tree could see another small tree growing. He did not want to look again in case it disappointed, but once he saw the animals going over to this beautiful sapling he realised that this was their child-another willow tree.

He cried and cried again-this time it wasn't sadness but joy- There were so many tears that they became an extra pool. But this is not the end --- this is the beginning of Willow Pool Garden Centre; the magic continues.
